The section break appears in the document. You cannot see a section break if you're in Print Layout view.

INTRODUCTION

In addition to adding page breaks to your document (covered in the preceding task), you can add a section break. Section breaks enable you to format each section of a document separately; for example, different portions of your document can have different margins or be formatted into two columns.

TIP

Types of Section Breaks

A next page section break starts a new section on the next page. A continuous section break starts a new section on the same page. An even page break starts a new section on the next even-numbered page, and an odd page break starts a new section on the next odd-numbered page. To delete a section break, click the double dotted line in Normal view and press the Delete key on your keyboard.
