INTRODUCTION

In today's multimedia world, text and graphics sometimes aren't enough to keep an audience's attention. PowerPoint's animation effects, or schemes, can bring presentations to life, making it hard for people to ignore information. You can apply animations to draw attention to especially relevant information. For example, you could make a picture you don't want your audience to forget appear slowly on the slide. Keep in mind that effects on slides that aren't beneficial to the presentation can distract your audience instead of adding emphasis in a positive way.

TIP

Applying Effects

The types of animation effects you can apply depend on the type of object to which you are applying them. In addition, not all effects are installed by default, so you might need the Office installation CD to add some effects to your presentations.
