Appendix B: Message Selector Syntax

Overview

A message selector is a string expression whose syntax is based on a subset of the SQL-92 conditional expression syntax. The syntax is composed of:

  • Literals

  • Identifiers

  • Whitespace

  • Expressions

  • Logical operators

  • Comparison operators

  • Arithmetic operators

The tables below provide a handy reference of the main components and construction rules. Note that all selector syntax is case-insensitive.
