Post-production

After all the elements for a segment have been shot, created, or acquired, the editor can digitize them and begin the editing process. During the pre-production phase, the editor was brought in to the process so that he could learn about the production plan and provide input. Then the editor developed an approach for editing the segments based on the plan and the script or rundown.

The final product will be streamed to end users on the company’s intranet and must include audio and video of the presenter synchronized to PowerPoint slides, some still images, and edited video from an outside source. A number of editing tools and processes could be used to assemble the production. However, because the final product
must include PowerPoint slides, Fabrikam decides to save a step and edit the video using Microsoft Producer. With Producer, they can also add the slides and publish the finished presentation to the Training department’s Web site.
