The Geronimo Web console is one of the easiest-to-use administrative tools that Geronimo has to offer. This chapter explored the features of the Web console. You discovered that the console can be used to do the following:
View server information, such as memory usage, thread usage in thread pools, Java VM version and system property values
Shut down the server
Configure Web server, EJB server, and JMS server
Deploy, start, and stop various application modules and the system resources module
Install additional system resources such as JDBC connectors and JMS connection factories
Add binaries to the Geronimo repository
Create and install Geronimo plug-ins
Maintain security realms that are used serverwide for user authentication and authorization
You have also discovered that many of the Web console’s features duplicate the commands in the deployer tool.
Chapter 9 presents the various deployment plans and deployment descriptors that you can use when deploying application modules and resources.
