In this chapter, you've learned about the various clustering configurations, the hardware and software you'll need to create clusters, and the SQL Server cluster configuration process. You've also seen that MSCS will help you in several situations but that it is not the be-all and end-all of system fault tolerance. You must also use a fault-tolerant disk subsystem and implement a backup scheme. MSCS, along with a good disaster recovery strategy, can offer maximum uptime and system reliability. In the next chapter, we will begin our examination of Transact-SQL, an enhanced version of SQL that is available in SQL Server 2000.
