Summary

3 4

In this chapter, you've learned what system stored procedures and user-defined stored procedures are and why they are used. You've also learned how to create stored procedures by using T-SQL code, Enterprise Manager, and the Create Stored Procedure Wizard, and you've seen the differences among these methods. Additionally, you've learned how to use parameters and variables and how to execute stored procedures. We also looked at the T-SQL statements used to alter, drop, and view the text of a stored procedure. In Chapter 22, we'll look at triggers, a special type of stored procedure that is executed automatically under certain conditions.
