Chapter 4. Organizing Items in the CatalogIN THIS CHAPTER: 24 About Organizing Items 25 Create a Category or Group 26 Create a Tag or Collection Marker 27 Attach a Marker to an Item 28 Delete a Marker, Category, or Group 29 Change a Marker's Icon 30 Change a Marker's Category, Group, Name, or Note 31 Add a Text Caption or Note 32 Add an Audio Caption The main reason for importing images, audio files, and movies into the catalog is to organize them, and that's what this chapter is all about. You group similar media files together by adding the same tag or collection marker. For example, you might add a John tag to several audio files, movie files, and images that feature your son, John. Similarly, you might add a Calendar collection marker to the images you've used in creating a family calendar for an earlier year so that you don't select the same images when creating this year's calendar. After you've created tags and collection markers, you can change anything about them that doesn't work for youyou can change a marker's name, icon, category, and even its position within the tag or collections listing. You'll learn how to perform these maintenance tasks in this chapter. Finally, you'll learn how to annotate your images with a written or audio commentary. |
