Introduction

Quicken provides several convenient tools you can use to pay your bills. A bill payment tool called Quicken Bill Pay allows you to pay your bills and carry out nonbill transactions, such as sending money to a family member or a babysitter, from your Quicken software through Quicken Bill Pay. You can also pay bills through the Bill Pay website. Your accounts don't have to offer online services for you to use Quicken Bill Pay, though. If the payee or financial institution can receive electronic transfers, the money is electronically taken out of your account and deposited into the payee's account. However, for payees or financial institutions that cannot receive electronic transfers, Quicken prints a check and sends it the old-fashioned way, via U.S. mail.

If you pay some of your bills by writing checks, Quicken offers the convenience of printing checks directly from Quicken so that you don't have to hand-write your checks. In this chapter you will learn how to use Quicken Bill Pay and order, create, and print Quicken checks.
