Typically, most meetings result in action items for attendees. Now you can easily track these tasks in the meeting workspace. You can create tasks, set their priority, assign them to attendees, and track their status to completion.
In this exercise, you will create and assign a task and then edit the task to indicate that it is complete.

BE SURE TO start Microsoft Outlook before beginning this exercise.
In the Navigation Pane , click Calendar .
Outlook displays your calendar for today.
In the Navigation Pane , click the date of the Document Review meeting.
Outlook displays your schedule for the selected day.
Double-click the Document Review meeting.
The meeting opens with the Meeting Workspace task pane visible.
In the Meeting Workspace task pane, click Go to workspace .
Internet Explorer opens to display your Document Review meeting workspace.
In the Tasks area, click Add new item .
Internet Explorer displays the Tasks: New Item form.
In the Title box, type Incorporate revisions , click the down arrow to the right of the Priority list, and click (1) High .
Click the down arrow to the right of the Assigned To box, click Ben Smith , and in the Description box, type Update document to reflect feedback from review meeting .
Next to the Due Date box, click the Calendar button, and select a date three business days from today.
Click the down arrow to the right of the second Due Date box, click 1 PM , click the down arrow to right of the third Due Date box, and click 00 .
Click the Save and Close button.
Internet Explorer displays the Document Review workspace, including the new task.
In the Tasks area , click Incorporate revisions .
Internet Explorer shows the detail for the task.
Click the Edit Item button.
Internet Explorer displays the Tasks: Incorporate revisions form.
Tip | You can attach files as well as agenda or objective items to tasks. When creating or editing the task, click Attach File. To delete an attachment from a task, click the item to view its details. Then click Edit Item, and to the right of the attachment, click the Delete link. |
In the Status list, click Completed , and then click the Save and Close button.
Internet Explorer displays the Document Review workspace. The Tasks list no longer includes the completed task.
Click the Tasks page s title bar.
Internet Explorer displays the Tasks page, which indicates that the task is complete.
CLOSE Internet Explorer, the Document Review meeting, and Outlook.
