	Select the cells to be included in the range. Click in the Name Box . Type the name of the range, and press F.

	Click the cell into which the formula will be written. Type an equal sign, and then type the remainder of the formula.

	Click the cell into which the formula will be written. Type an equal sign, and then type the first part of the formula. Select the cells to be used in the formula. Finish typing the formula.
126	To create a formula with a function
	Click the cell where you want to create the formula. On the Insert menu, click Function . Click the function you want to use, and then click OK . Type the arguments for the function in the argument boxes, and then click OK .
126	To create a formula with a conditional function
	Click the cell where you want to create the formula. On the Insert menu, click Function . In the Select a function list, click IF , and then click OK . In the Logical_test box, type the test to use. In the Value_if_true box, type the value to be printed if the logical test evaluatesto true. (Enclose a text string in quotes.) In the Value_if_false box, type the value to be printed if the logical test evaluatesto false. (Enclose a text string in quotes.)
132	To trace precedents or dependents
	Click the cell from which to trace precedents or dependents. On the Tools menu, point to Formula Auditing and then click Trace Precedents or Trace Dependents .
132	To use the Error Tracking tool
	Click the cell containing the error. On the Tools menu, click Error Checking . Use the controls in the Error Checking box to examine the formula containingthe error.
