OEM in Oracle Database 10g offers a number of key improvements:

Much easier to use. OEM makes management, monitoring, and tuning of a database much easier for the beginning and intermediate DBA. With preconfigured SQL queries, DBAs can dive in and manage the Oracle Database. Experienced DBAs will find OEM an adjunct to their own scripts and processes.

Lower cost to implement. OEM is preconfigured and ready to use out of the box.

Complete solution. OEM is a much more complete solution and offers much improved functionality over the previous version. The following table compares and contrasts functional areas of OEM in Oracle9i and OEM in Oracle Database 10g:
