Say Good Things Behind Each Others' Back Even if They Don't to Their Faces

If NPCs tend to say good things about the others behind their backs (nothing too schmaltzy, of course), even if they say teasing or mean things to their faces, then this too increases the group bonding. Why would they not show their admiration openly? Because:

  • Antagonism or teasing isn't always what it seems, and, in fact, can be chemistry. (See Chapter 2.7, "NPC Toward NPC Chemistry Techniques.") Just as it can show chemistry between two people, it can do the same when performed by a group.

  • They have Layer Cakes in their feelings for each other. (See Chapter 2.8, "NPC Toward NPC Relationship Deepening Techniques.")

  • One or both is wearing a Mask that prevents them from expressing admiration. (See Chapter 2.1, "NPC Interesting Techniques.")

Whatever the reason behind it, this technique can create bonding when used appropriately.
