Most commercial applications use some sort of database. Becoming a good database programmer requires extending your skills beyond just being a good programmer. There's so much to know about optimizing databases and database code, creating usable database interfaces, creating a database schemathe list goes on and on. Writing any database application, however, begins with the basic skills you learned in this hour. You learned how to connect to a database, create and populate a DataTable, and navigate the records in the DataTable. In addition, you learned how to edit records and how to add and delete records. Although this just scratches the surface of database programming, it is all you need to begin writing your own small database application. |
