Stephen Goodnick

Stephen Goodnick received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Colorado State University in 1983. He is currently Interim Deputy Dean and Director of Nanotechnology for the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering at Arizona State University. He joined ASU in fall 1996 as Department Chair of Electrical Engineering. Prior to that, he was professor of electrical and computer engineering at Oregon State University from 1986 to 1996. He has also been a visiting scientist at the Solar Energy Research Institute and Sandia National Laboratories and a visiting faculty member at the Walter Schottky Institute, Munich, Germany; the University of Modena, Italy; the University of Notre Dame; and Osaka University, Japan. He served as President (20032004) of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (ECEDHA), and as Program Chair of the Fourth IEEE Conference on Nanotechnology in 2004.

Goodnick has published more than 150 refereed journal articles, books, and book chapters related to transport in semiconductor devices, computational electronics, quantum and nanostructured devices and device technology, and high-frequency and optical devices. He is co-author of the textbook Transport in Nanostructures with David K. Ferry (Cambridge University Press, 1997).
