Project Overview

Because MonkeyTongue's staff is primarily focused on creating new designs for paying customers, it has decided to outsource the creation of one of its internal sales applications (an expense report tracking system) to a consulting firm. MonkeyTongue used Macromedia's website to find a firm that could work well with their Flash designers. MonkeyTongue chose to contract with Vshift (a Macromedia Alliance Solution Provider Partner based in Orlando, Florida) to build its expense report application. While it would like Vshift to develop most of the application, it would also like its own staff of Flash designers to help design it and wants to keep them in the loop on how the Vshift team develops the actual application code (possibly so that they can code the rest of the needed applications themselves). The following memo was sent from the MonkeyTongue CEO to get the project rolling.

The Vshift team visited the MonkeyTongue studios on Thursday and kicked off the meeting with a roundtable requirements-gathering discussion about what MonkeyTongue would like the project to entail. The team was careful to steer the discussion toward coming up with an attainable goal for its budget and deadline.

To close our meeting, the Vshift team recommended that they create a requirements document to record all of the necessary application features. The team was given full access to the essential MonkeyTongueemployees' phone numbers and email addresses in case any questions came up.
