Using WDDX with Other Technologies

The most important point to remember about serializing and deserializing a WDDX packet is that what you put in is what you get out. So if your ColdFusion application takes a query record set and turns it into a WDDX packet, then passes it on to an ASP program, that program ends up with a record set as well.

WDDX is a powerful tool when used for syndication purposes. When you're sharing data between two Web sites, getting the data in just the right format can be difficult if both sites use different programming languages. Now, with WDDX, if both programs understand the WDDX DTD, they have a translator that allows them to transfer data seamlessly.
