Marina Fisher

I would like to thank my family for endless support and inspiration, which they tirelessly carried through. I am incredibly thankful to my husband, Tom, who also encouraged me to keep the thread going, and my mother, Sofya, who took care of my dear son Edward through many weekends while I was writing the book.

Ray Lai

It has been quite a challenge to simultaneously work on two books, particularly when I began to have some health issues. It would be impossible for me to have completed this book project without physical and spiritual support from Angela and Johanan. Angela always listens when I need her. I would like to say thanks to Johanan because he will help me write (he wants to write a book on Java 4 when he grows up!). Our Bible study home group (too long to list all the names) always supports me with prayer. They keep me going with perseverance.

Thanks again for Hubert's valuable input to the security chapter and Shanti's to the RAS chapters. Not least of all, thanks for Samir's "ropes" (opportunities).

Last of all, I want to give my endless thanks to our coauthors who worked extremely hard toward the same goal.

Sonu Sharma

I would like to thank everyone who has helped bring this book to fruition. I would especially like to thank my coauthors, Marina, Ray, and Laurence, for their diligence and dedication to this book writing effort that sprang from a "Birds of a Feather" session at Java One 2003. I would also like to thank my husband, Sanga, for his support and encouragement and my son, Rohan, who brings so much joy and happiness to each day.

Laurence Moroney

I would like to thank my coauthors Marina Fisher, Ray Lai, and Sonu Sharma for inviting me to be a part of this fantastic work! I also want to thank Jenna Dobkin at Mainsoft for initially getting me involved in this process.

Finally, I want to thank my wife, Rebecca, and my children, Claudia and Christopher, for being patient with me when I am working hard and deep in the (anti-social) writing mode. Above all, I would like to thank God through whom all things are possible.
