Project 1H. Housing

Objectives: 1. Start and Exit PowerPoint; 2. Edit a Presentation Using the Outline/Slides Pane; 6. Create Headers and Footers; 7. Print a Presentation.

In the following Mastery Assessment, you will edit a presentation regarding access to affordable housing in the city of Desert Park. Your completed presentation will look similar to the one shown in Figure 1.44.

For Project 1H, you will need the following file:

p01H_Housing


You will save your presentation as

1H_Housing_Firstname_Lastname

From your student files, open the file p01H_Housing . Save the file as 1H_Housing_Firstname_Lastname and then scroll through the slides to familiarize yourself with the presentation. As you do so, correct any spelling errors.

On Slide 1 , apply the Title Slide layout. On Slide 3 , demote the second bullet. In the Outline tab , promote the last bullet on Slide 3 to a new slide, creating Slide 4 . Using Figure 1.45 as a guide, create Slide 4 by applying the appropriate slide layout and typing the text, demoting text as necessary.

Move Slide 2 so that it is the last slide, and then type the following speaker's notes on Slide 4 :

Members of the Board of Commissioners serve a three-year term with a maximum of three board members appointed in any given year.

Add the slide number to all of the slides, and remove any other slide headers or footers. On the Notes and Handouts , include only the date so that it updates automatically, and the footer 1H_Housing_Firstname_Lastname

5.

Submit the presentation either printed or electronically , as directed by your instructor. To submit a printout of the presentation, print handouts , 4 per page in horizontal order. Select Grayscale and frame the slides. Print the notes page for Slide 4 . Save your changes and close the file.

Project 1I. Membership

Objectives: 1. Start and Exit PowerPoint; 2. Edit a Presentation Using the Outline/Slides Pane; 3. Format and Edit a Presentation Using the Slide Pane; 5. View a Slide Show; 6. Create Headers and Footers; 7. Print a Presentation.

In the following Mastery Assessment, you will edit a presentation regarding membership in the City of Desert Park Nature Centers. Your completed presentation will look similar to the one shown in Figure 1.46.

For Project 1I, you will need the following file:

You will save your presentation as

1I_Membership_Firstname_Lastname

From your student files, open the file p01I_Membership . Save the presentation in your storage location as 1I_Membership_Firstname_Lastname . On Slide 1 , change the slide layout to Title Slide .

On Slide 3 , demote the second bullet Parking is included and then demote the last two bullets.

3.

Display Slide 5 . Change the slide layout to Title and 2Column Text . In the second column type the following, indenting the addresses so that the second column is formatted similar to the first column:

558 Meadow Lane

Delete Slide 4 . Move Slide 3 so that it becomes Slide 2 .

Add the Slide number to all of the slides, and remove any other header or footer formatting on the slides. Create a footer for the notes and handouts pages by typing 1I_Membership_Firstname_Lastname Remove any other header or footer formatting on the notes and handouts pages.

6.

Display Slide 1 , and then view the slide show. Slide transitions and animations have been applied. Submit the presentation either printed or electronically, as directed by your instructor. To submit a printout of the presentation, print handouts , 4 per page in horizontal orderuse grayscale and frame the slides. Save your changes and close the file.
