Microsoft Access 2002 is a powerful program with a huge collection of tools and features. Although the program interface is fairly easy to figure out and the Help system and built-in wizards make performing basic tasks a bit easier, you’ll still have a substantial learning curve to master as you familiarize yourself with the workings of the program. If you’re not an experienced Access user, you’ll want to read this chapter to get a general overview of Access, learn about the Access interface, and understand the options you have when creating Access databases. These topics will be covered briefly in this chapter; later chapters provide more in-depth coverage.
