Acknowledgments

Books like this involve a great many folks who help out in ways too numerous and varied to mention. Still, I like to take a stab at including everyone, although invariably I forget someone, and the omission usually leads to a deep-seated and lifelong resentment of me that is as unshakable as the belief that law-enforcement officials prefer doughnuts as a daily snack. The most important person to thank is Kathy Simpson, who not only does an excellent job editing, but also manages to tolerate my eccentricities without having to seek out a prescription for tranquilizers. Also at Peachpit, I need to thank Cliff Colby, Rebecca Ross, Tracey Croom, David Van Ness, and Julie Bess for their various roles in bringing this book to market.

In the podcasting world, I need to thank (in no particular order) Phil Torrone, Swoopy, Evo Terra, Richard Lucic, Jason Litchford, Sharon Housley, Eric Boyer, Chris McIntyre, Brandon Fuller, Bob Goyetche, August Trometer, Aaron Price, Ben Williams, Greg Kaufman, Tod Maffin, Chris Breen, Greg Pool, Michael Mennenga, Elizabeth Tracey, and Dr. Rick Lange, M.D. I'd like to single out Steve Mirsky for putting up with the fact that I made a rookie mistake when recording our conversation, which forced us to cover the interview twice. I'll never live it down.

Last, I'd like to thank Jen Gareau; Jeff Govier; Lance Campbell; Chris McVeigh; and my parents, Glen Farkas and Lu Farkas (specifically for their babysitting assistance).
