Now that you've learned about the basic concepts behind ColdFusion, it's time to take your knowledge into a hands-on environment and begin constructing some basic templates. In this chapter you return to the Habitat Alert Web site to create a couple of templates that perform two common Web tasks: displaying the contents of a database containing names and addresses, and inserting form data into a database. When you complete the chapter, you'll know enough about basic ColdFusion tags to adapt the templates for your own projects. With a little tinkering, the two templates you build in the following examples can be customized to become a simple guestbook, a user registration system, or a technical support request interface.
Note | The tutorials in this and subsequent chapters require that you have ColdFusion installed and running. If you don't, please see Chapter 1 for instructions. |
