Install a printer in a Windows 98 system
Investigate printer properties
For this exercise, you will need a working Windows 98 computer.
In this exercise, you will complete the printer installation without having a printer attached to your computer. If you have a printer attached, you can install an additional printer by following this procedure; you will also be able to test the installation by printing a test page.

Installing an imaginary printer is often a good idea while you’re learning. Doing so gives you a printer to experiment with without the possibility of misconfiguring your real printer. |
Boot to the Desktop and use the following sequence to see which printers are installed in your system:
Start Ø Settings Ø Printers
Record any printers that appear in the Printers folder:
Double-click the Add Printer icon and then click Next to begin the installation.
Select Local Printer and click Next.
In the first Add Printer Wizard screen, select a manufacturer and printer model. The choices do not matter, because you are installing an imaginary printer. (See Figure 4.4.)
