Adding Value into the Future

With its release of Lotus Notes and Domino 8, IBM validates the importance, value, and widespread acceptance of the Lotus Notes client experience. IBMs approach to Lotus Notes with the version 8 release is truly evolutionary in nature. By refining and enhancing existing Lotus Notes UIs and functions, version 8 adds value for existing customers while preserving their ongoing investment in their Lotus Domino infrastructure and applications.

At the same time, Lotus Notes and Domino 8 extends Lotus Notes capabilities with its support of new programming options and techniques. It enables developers to innovate by building powerful composite applications and cross-platform solutions through existing Lotus Notes applications and other emerging technologies. And, from the developers perspective, Lotus Notes and Domino 8 represents a potential opportunity to extend skills into new arenas (Web, WebSphere Portal, and so on) while working in a familiar and friendly environment.
