Custom Undos?

[ LiB ]

The History panel (ALT-F10) has made a big impact in Flash MX 2004. Along with all the other tricks it introduced that we discuss elsewhere, you can also undo several actions at once with a simple drag. With the History panel open, simply slide the little wedge on the left side of the action list up until you get to the last action you would like to leave as performed. You'll see the changes taking place on your Stage or Timeline as you drag the slider. Then you can just begin working again and it will overwrite the actions you undid. Doing things this way keeps you more informed as to what specifically you're undoing instead of just pressing CTRL-Z over and over and watching what changes. That's the way I used to do things, but no more. From now on, it's the History panel all the way.
