Chapter 7. Playing Videos on the PSP

Sometimes, you don't want to get all agitated and sweaty doing something grueling and interactive, like playing a video game. Who needs the stress? It's times like that when you just want to sit back, clear your mind, and watch something. Passive entertainment is truly a gift from the gods.

Although you can get popular movies, television shows, and other videos on UMD, you're not cornered into using the tiny discs for your PSP video enjoyment. Take a nearby computer online, and you can find videos galore for your PSP, including trailers for upcoming games and movies, short films, TV-show episodes, and much more.

Sites have blossomed all over the Web with free PSP video content, and you can even turn your home movies into PSP films to show off Woobie's first steps to the cashier at the crafts shop. In fact, I devote an entire appendix (Appendix B) to showing you how to convert media file formats from one to another. Wow!

The best part is that there isn't a whole heck of a lot to getting movies from your PC to play on a PSP. If you can deal with Windows Explorer and handle the intricacies of the PSP menu, you're fully equipped to watch movies on the PSP.
