If You're Still Reading This...Form designers tend to come from one of two camps: either graphical design people who find themselves thrust into a world of databases, or technical folks who face the challenge of creating a suitable (and aesthetically pleasing) frontend for their data. This book tends to lean mainly toward the technical side and, in fact, offers very little advice on purely aesthetic issues involved in laying out forms. Some basic knowledge of XML will come in handy, though other W3C technologies used by XForms will be introduced and covered in separate chapters. If you are completely unfamiliar with XML, you will likely benefit by first reading through some of the introductory XML material on the Web, such as at http://www.xml.com. |
