Styles

If you've taken some time experimenting with layer stylesand you want to reuse the same look over and overtry creating a style.

Step One.

Open a layered file and use the Add a Layer Style pop-up menu at the bottom of the Layers palette to add various effects to a layer using the options in the Layer Style dialog.

Step Two.

Click on the Create New Style icon at the bottom of the Styles palette (Window>Styles). In the resulting dialog, name the style and click OK. ( Note: Ensure the Include Layer Effects option is selected.) One Option : To apply the style to another layer, just click on the style in the Styles palette. (If you let your mouse hover over it, the style name you chose will appear.) Another Option : If you like the look of an existing style but want to make some slight variations, apply the style to a layer, and then double-click on the Layer Effects symbol (it looks like a lowercase " ") to open the Layer Style dialog. Take a look at the settings, tweak them when necessary, and save this variation as a new style. As always, you can use the Preset Manager to save a set of your custom styles (see the "Swatches" section).
