In our experience, this is the point when it’s easy for the project manager to wonder why they wanted the job. A huge amount of time has been invested, and the “real project” is just beginning. Here’s some good news. Although we can’t say that the rest of the project is all downhill, many of the management tasks in the implementation phase are tasks you’re already familiar with from creating the project plan (adjusting the schedule, leveling resource assignments, assigning new resources, and modifying tasks). In Chapter 12, we’ll look at the day-to-day tasks of project management.
