Microsoft Project Web Access is the web-based component of Microsoft Project Server. With Web Access installed, anyone in your organization can access data about your Microsoft Project enterprise projects. All they need is a web browser (Internet Explorer works fine), access to the Project Server computer (over the network, presumably), a Client Access License (CAL), and a user account created by your Project Server administrator. By providing access to project data through any web browser, Web Access extends project management organizationally even to users who do not have Microsoft Project installed on their desktops. In short, Web Access provides enterprise-wide, one-stop shopping for project information. This chapter covers the following topics:
Introducing Project Web Access
Accessing Web Access
Working from the Home page
Managing tasks and assignments
Viewing and managing projects
Managing resources and assignments
Updating project status
Viewing project updates
Managing issues tracking and submission
Using the document library
