The SMTP greeting message

V8.6 and earlier

Prior to V8.7 sendmail the $e macro was used to hold the SMTP greeting message. That role has been taken over by the SmtpGreetingMessage option. See SmtpGreetingMessage for a description of both this $e macro and that option.
