Appendix A. Installing the JAX Pack
The JWSDP is available in the form of a self-installing executable, and can be obtained at http://java.sun.com/webservices/webservicespack.html. You'll need to download the installer and save it to the local filesystem.
After you download the installer on to the local filesystem, double-click on the installer to start the installation process. The installation wizard starts up. Follow the installation wizard to complete the installation. Once the installation is complete, it will create the following directory structure in your installation directory:
LICENSE
bin
common
conf
config
docs
images
lib
logs
samples
server
services
shared
temp
tools
webapps
work
xsl
Other than this, the installer also creates an entry for the JWSDP in the Start, Programs menu. From this menu, you can start and shut down the Tomcat server and the Xindice database server that comes with JWSDP, as well as access the documentation, such as the user guide.
