Aligning Text in a Text Box

You also have control over the alignment of the text in the box. You can center the text (in relation to the box border), right-align the text, left-align the text, or use different alignments on different text lines or paragraphs in a text box. For lines or paragraphs to be treated separately, place a line break (press Enter ) between the line and the next line in the text box.

The alignments align the text to the left and right borders of the frame. Table 7.2 shows the alignment buttons available on the Formatting toolbar.

To align text in a box, follow these steps:

  1. Place the insertion point in the paragraph (any line or lines of text followed by a line break) that you want to align.

  2. Click the appropriate button on the Formatting toolbar (as detailed in Table 7.2).

Your text is aligned according to the button you selected on the Formatting toolbar.
