The ViewPoint application provides a block-mode interface for displaying network status. ViewPoint displays event messages collected and distributed by EMS from various subsystems throughout a system or network.
ViewPoint is a Pathway application that can be used by multiple users on multiple systems simultaneously . The default name for the ViewPoint Pathway application is $ZVPT.

The block-mode screens display events and system or network status:
It provides the status of a variety of objects in the network on a single block-mode status screen. The status screen allows operators to monitor the availability and usage of objects such as CPUs, disks, terminals, and communications lines.
Messages about current or past events occurring anywhere in the network are displayed on a set of block-mode events screens. The events screens allow operators to monitor significant occurrences or problems in the network as they occur. Critical events or events requiring immediate action are highlighted.
RISK ViewPoint is a reporting application and poses no security risks. View- Point uses very little system overhead. It is generally run by operations management.
The ViewPoint application consists of numerous components . It normally installs in its own subvolume, not in the $SYSTEM.SYSTEM subvolume. The default sub- volume is $SYSTEM.ZVIEWPT.
