Appendix A. Maya Headstart for Max Users

At this writing, 3ds max (formerly known as 3D Studio and 3D Studio MAX, referred to here as simply "max") is one of the most popular 3D animation programs. Although its design and operation origins are quite different from Maya's, max has adopted many of Maya's conventions, making it easier for 3ds max users to learn Maya. For max users, this appendix summarizes where to find Maya tools and dialog boxes analogous to those they're used to working with.
