Lotus Web Services Enablement Toolkit

The Lotus WSTK was developed and offered by IBM/Lotus in May of 2001 and contains several early examples of contructing Web services in the Domino environment. Specific examples illustrate how to define Web service providers to Domino applications and how to have Domino applications consume Web services. Being such an early offering in the Web service evolution, the WSTK takes a more or less brute force approach to constructing the Web service interfaces, using the level of Java and LotusScript function available at that time. For example, there are samples provided for constructing a Web service using the org.apache.soap Java packages, where the instructions describe how to manually package and deploy the Web service Java application to a SOAP-enabled Web server. Several sample applications are provided with the toolkit, which demonstrate interfaces to various Lotus products such as Discovery Server, Learning Space, and Sametime Connect.

Although it does not show off the latest development techniques, the WSTK still does provide useful examples of integrating Web services with Domino applications.
