Issues CoveredIn This Chapter
A big part of being a real estate agent is producing and working with documents: flyers, postcards, disclosure packages, tour sheets, inspection reports, and so on. In some cases, you're creating the documents, while in others you're a conduit between the seller and buyer. In both cases, you can use technology to ease the process. In later chapters of this book, I'll help you apply this technology to specific business issues and show you how you can apply these technologies to specific business processes. This chapter is more of a primer on the common tools, leading you through the functions and features you will likely use for a variety of business tasks. Obviously, there's no way one chapter can be a thorough tutorial on several tools, but I'll give you pointers on which ones to use and how to use them. After you decide which tools you want to use, you can refer to the many good books available that can give you deeper insight into these tools. Chapters 1 and 2 list many of the popular technology tools available. (The CD that comes with this book includes links to several recommended how-to books as well as to software vendors' Web sites.) |
