Summary

This chapter covered the subject of page, user, and application states so a conversation between the client and server is possible. By now you can identify a user and persist data throughout a user's visit to your web site. This is the core of making web applications work.

In the next chapter, you are going to go a step further by proceeding not only to identify a user across visits to the website, but also to grant them differentiated access to the site and its pages based on who they are. In other words, it addresses authentication and authorization. See you there.
