In this chapter, we covered many aspects of system management. Topics such as system backups and user account management are covered in separate chapters. Here, we focused on the day-to-day aspects of maintaining the server. We reviewed a number of common commands used to extract resource information from the system. Also, we examined the base directory structure of the root directory and explained the contents of the directories. In addition, we suggested a number of steps to help you in your day-to-day monitoring checks for servers. In the case of resource consumption, we also suggested a number of remedies. |
