Process Management

Overview

This checklist displays the specific goals and specific practices for each process area. For process improvement efforts, this checklist can be used to document whether procedures have been written for a practice, what stage the documentation is in, and who is responsible. For appraisals , the appraisal team can use this checklist to determine whether the practices have been institutionalized in order to achieve the goals for each process area. Feel free to add columns or rows to insert comments, tasks , status indicators, subpractices , artifacts, or anything else you feel will help structure and track your efforts.

The process areas are arranged by Maturity Levels 2 through 5. We list the Specific Goals and Specific Practices for each process area first. Rather than list the Generic Goals and Generic Practices for each process area immediately after that process area, we list all of the Generic Goals and their associated Generic Practices at the end of this appendix. Remember: generic goals and generic practices must be satisfied for each process area for each level, as well as the specific goals and specific practices for that process area. The differences in the wording of the practices between the staged representation and the continuous representation are also displayed.

See the appropriate chapters for more information, especially the planning and tracking chapters.
