This small module was developed by Pavel Kuznetsov, a Russian 3ds max enthusiast. It makes surfaces less glossy in the process of blurring images obtained by reflection or radiographing objects. Setting its parameters is easy (Fig. 21.10,a), and the results are self-evident (Fig. 21.10, b and c). It works correctly on the edges of objects, unlike the Blur process integrated in 3ds max (Fig. 21.10, d), and is the best way we found to achieve this effect.
