In this chapter, we examined the design-time architecture of the .NET Framework and showed how to implement classes that provide advanced design-time functionality ”designers, UI type editors, and component editors. We also described how to debug design-time code. Design-time features are not required for the functioning of your control in a page but can make the difference between a no-frills control and one that offers rich RAD capabilities in a visual designer. Design-time features are especially important if you are authoring controls for commercial distribution. |
