In Conclusion

In this chapter, I provided a brief introduction to the sophisticated Ganglia package. Ganglia uses the RRDtool to store performance metrics from all of the cluster nodes into a round-robin database on the cluster node manager. The Ganglia Web package displays the cluster nodes through an Apache web server using colors to graphically represent the load average on each cluster node and to display performance metrics collected by gmond. This allows you to quickly spot problems on the cluster nodes and to drill down into the detailed performance metric information for a specific cluster node by simply selecting that node.
