To make changes to a portion of an imagewhether the image is one you've created, a photograph, or another type of artworkyou need to tell Paint Shop Pro what you want to change before you can specify how you want to change it. This is called making a selection. You can then make your change to the isolated selected area without affecting the rest of the image.
