Chapter 4. Working with Selections

To make changes to a portion of an imagewhether the image is one you've created, a photograph, or another type of artworkyou need to tell Paint Shop Pro what you want to change before you can specify how you want to change it. This is called making a selection. You can then make your change to the isolated selected area without affecting the rest of the image. You also need to select an area if you want to copy or cut it to the Windows Clipboard for use in other programs or images. Paint Shop Pro includes several different selection tools. In this chapter, you'll learn how to

  • Use the selection tools

  • Understand feathering

  • Discover the Magic Wand

  • Add, subtract, and remove selections
