The same techniques you learned in Chapter 10, "Working with Art Images"how to move, resize, and delete art imagesare also used for objects you draw with the Drawing toolbar. Sometimes, however, you might want to change the color , line style, or other attributes of your drawing object.
NOTE
Some of the following features are not available with some types of objects.
By default, when you draw an oval, rectangle, or other shape, the interior of the object is filled with solid white. You can change the fill color or you can make the fill area transparent so you can see your Excel data under it. Text boxes do not provide for object fill.
NOTE
Even if you drew the selected oval or rectangle from the tools on the Drawing toolbar, Excel considers it an AutoShape.
When you create an AutoShape object, you can add text to it making it more informative and useful.
NOTE
If you selected an AutoShape from the Callouts category, the shape will be ready for text to be entered. You can skip steps 1 and 2.
NOTE
You can select and format the text font, size, color, or alignment in the same manner as any other worksheet text.
Shadows can add depth and visual interest to your AutoShape objects.
Make objects come alive by adding 3-dimensional effects! Some objects won't work with 3-dimensional shapes, so in those instances, the feature will not be available.
