Previously, you may have used a paper, pencil, and calculator to track information, whether to figure a simple calculation or track a list of items in alphabetical order. Excel handles those tasks and many more, including very complex calculations. At first glance, however, the Excel opening screen can feel very intimidating with all of its buttons , options, rows, and columns . Once you understand the purpose for all those options, you will feel much more comfortable with the Excel screen.
In this chapter, you'll learn how to:
Open the Excel program
Explore and move around the Excel screen
Understand cell addresses
Work with the task pane
Use Excel menus
Use Excel Help
