This feature can be extremely helpful for applying color adjustments created for one clip across a series of clips or for applying the keyframes for a motion path created for one clip to another clip or series of clips. 64. Copy Attributes from One Clip to Another 1. | Apply an Effect to a Clip
Browse the Effects and Transitions panel for an effect. As you open each collection, look at the thumbnails to see a sample of each effect. If you click to select a Motion or Transitional effect, the thumbnail displays an animated preview.
When you've found an effect you want to use, drag it onto a clip on the Timeline, as I have done with the Twirl effect.
NOTE You can apply as many effects as you want to a single clip. As you do, the clips are added to the clip's properties in the Properties panel. Premiere Elements applies these effects in the order they appear in the Properties panel, so rearranging their order can often produce significantly different results. After you've applied the effect, customize it as described in 61 Add and Customize an Effect.
| 2. | Copy the Clip
Right-click the affected clip on the Timeline and, when the context menu appears, select Copy.
| 3. | Paste the Attributes on Another Clip
Right-click another clip on your Timeline (one to which you want to apply the same effect, with the same settings, as you applied to the first clip in step 1) and, from the context menu that appears, select Paste Attributes.
All effects and settings you applied to the first clip are applied to the second clip.
| 4. | Select Several Clips
If you want to apply the copied effect to multiple clips in the Timeline, drag your mouse from an empty area on the Timeline and across a series of clips to select them all.
| 5. | Paste Attributes to Several Clips at Once
As you did in step 3, right-click the selected group of clips and, from the context menu that appears, select Paste Attributes.
All effects and settings you copied from the first clip are applied to all the selected clips.
