30 Add, Delete, and Size Tracks

To the far left of each video track you see a film reel icon; this is the Video Track Display toggle. To the far left of each audio track you see a speaker icon; this is the Audio Track Display toggle. Depending on your workflow, current task, or personal preference, you can have different display settings for each video and audio track.

1.

Set Video Track Display

The video track display can be toggled to different views by clicking the film reel icon at the left end of the video track. Clicking this icon switches between four views; keep clicking the icon until you see the view you want:

  • Thumbnails across the entire track

  • Thumbnails at the beginning of the clip

  • Thumbnails at the beginning and end of the clip

  • Hide the thumbnails on the track

TIP

To make the keyframe markers more visible, choose the view that hides the thumbnails. The keyframe markers and line will be clearly visible on the Timeline.

2.

Set Audio Track Display

The audio track display can also be toggled to different views by clicking the speaker icon at the far left of the audio track. Click this icon to switch between two views:

  • Audio waveform shown across the entire track

  • Hide the audio waveform on the track
