GarageBand 2: FADING OUT AT THE END

If you can't come up with a good ending for your song, do what the pros dofade out. To do that, press Command-B to make the Master Track visible, then scroll near the end of your song on the Timeline. Click once right on the Volume line (which appears about a third of the way down within the Master Track) right at the spot where you want your fade- out to begin, which adds a point on the Volume line. Then, click once more at the point in the Timeline where you want the music totally faded out to add another point. Now drag that second point downward, and you'll see the line slant down from the first point to the second point. The first point is where the music starts to fade; the second is where it's faded out. For a more gradual fade, drag the first point farther to the left (in other words, the steeper the slant, the quicker the fade).
