iMovie HD: SEND IMPORTED CLIPS STRAIGHT TO THE TIMELINE

By default, imported clips appear on the Clips pane, and then once imported, you can drag them individually to the Timeline Viewer. However, if you'd like, you can change one Preferences setting and iMovie HD will send your clips straight to the Timeline Viewer instead. You do this by going under the iMovie menu, under Preferences. In the Import section, under Place Clips In, choose Movie Timeline, and from now on, all imported clips will appear in the Timeline Viewer, rather than the Clips pane.
